Agree or Disagree with the extended unemployment bill
I would say that in regards to the extended unemployment bill i agree. These people did not, in most cases, chose to be unemployed and telling them they will be denied any kind of government assistance is like telling them good luck with those bills and feeding your children. How would you feel? Don't get me wrong and please understand i am very aware of those out there taking advantage of the benefits but to generalize all unemployed persons as lazy free riders is both ignorant and flat out rude. Give them a break. And i feel that yes, it is our governments responsibility to take care of its people. Before we start having complaints on those cashing government checks put yourself in their shoes and then you tell me how great it would feel to not know what your going to tell your family when you have no money and are put out in the street.

I agree with you, that we cannot generalize the unemployed as lazy free riders. A vast majority of those getting help from the government need it. Unfortunately, there are those that take advantage of it. Personally, I know people on both sides of that coin: Someone who is trying but can't find a job, and someone who is just taking advantage of the government's help. But, yes, that vast majority that honestly need help do deserve the extension of help from the government, especially with the economy being the way that it is. We cannot penalize them for something they can't control (the economy) or for those few that actually are lazy free riders.
