social issue: Capital Punishment

I completely agree and support the idea of capital punishment, better know as the death penalty. To quote a great book i once read " an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" . I could not have said it better. The death penalty, at least now a days, is more commonly used in cases of a person committing a particularly heinous crime. More times then not it is in the event of murder. So i guess my question is who would not support capital punishment? This type of punishment has been carried out as long as history takes us back. Of course the manner in which it is executed, no pun intended, has definitely gotten more humane and i suppose that's a good thing. However there are still large groups of people in our society who are strongly against any form of capital punishment stating that any murder of sorts is inhumane even if carried out as punishment. I suppose with the number of states outlawing the death penalty it shows they have made progress in their fight. We will see how they feel when someone murders a loved one and they are face with that feeling of anger against the one who destroyed their life and the life of the victim.

what doyou think about Gulf oil spill? should we boycott BP?

With the complete loss of oceanic life, be it plants or wildlife, happening over in the gulf coast i find it hard to believe anyone would support BP especially since it was released that they had several citations regarding the safety of that particular location that spanned over a few years. Harbors that once not long ago were thriving with fishermen is now silent. Peoples livelihood not to mention has completely gone down the drain. They have to date tried to put heavy mud over the pipe, they have tried to plug it with other various materials and they will be trying a dome like structure to stop the huge flow of oil into our water. Boycotting BP is not enough in my opinion, we should sue them so broke the executive of the company are forced to work in the clean up effort just to pay their court fees.Now because of them in the very near future i will be highway robbed at the gas pump when i have to fill up.

Obama sending 1,200 troops to Mexico Boarder

President Obama has recently sent 1,200 troops to the Mexico boarder, mainly focusing on the state of Arizona. This troop surge in our southern states is our presidents way of responding to the growing concern of violence and crimes committed by illegal immigrants and the recent issues with trafficking of drugs and gang violence over drugs. In addition to the troop surge he will also be requesting 500 million dollars to help aid the effort of boarder control. The troops will not be permanent fixture for the southern states but are only there to fill in while the money they are so depending on is used by existing boarder patrol to train and build up their Calvary and set up new ways such as more advanced surveillance and recognisance so when the troops are removed they will be effective in the battle at the boarder.With all this military takeover the Mexican Embassy is worried that the immigrants will be criminalized along with the drug dealers which they see as unfair treatment.....as they should. This whole troops to the boarder is kinda crazy in some ways and in others completely logical. As americans as a whole we have a duty to each other when it comes to protecting our own but i do agree with the Mexican Embassy in the idea that the immigrants even with their illegal status will be unjustly criminalized and put in the same group as murdering drug dealers and not concidered as people trying to acheive a better life. Something we as americans strive for and should be sympathetic to.
